Local pharmacists are considering their options as the government prepares to cut the amount of their “professional allowances.” Some pharamcies could lose as much as 300-thousand dollars a year. Pharmacist Tom Bond of Kelly’s Drugstore in Belleville says Kelly’s may have to cut four positions if this goes ahead on May 15. He says it costs 14-dollars to fill a perscription and the province is offering eight. The public is invited to a meeting with local pharmacists, tonight at 7:30 at Kelly’s Health Centre to discuss options. Bon says one option might be “increased fees.”
