Hastings County will apply to the Ontario Provincial Police for pricing on a county-wide policing contract.
The county surveyed its 14 member municipalities and they’ve all agreed to checking out how much a county-wide system would cost.
Administrator Jim Pine says it’s now time to put together a serious application.
Pine says it will take a couple of months to prepare the application.
Last year, Mayor Rodney Cooney of Stirling-Rawdon has said his municipality would be interested since it pays more than the other municipalities for policing.
