On January 26, at 10:49 a.m. an officer with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 401 westbound near Napanee.
As a result of the traffic stop the officer arrested the female driver and male passenger for possession of a controlled substance after locating a small quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle.
The officer determined that the female driver had provided a false name for the male passenger. The male passenger was found to be breaching prior release conditions.
Charged with obstruct police, two counts of driving while under suspension, and speeding is 21 year-old Monika LANKOCZ of Scarborough. She was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to attend Provincial Court in Napanee on March 1st.
Charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance is 22 year-old Jevone BROWN of Brampton. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee this morning for a bail hearing
