The school board that serves Northumberland County and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario – Kawartha Pine Ridge Locals have ratified new collective agreements for 1,300 teachers both occasional and contract.
The agreement between the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and ETFO is effective September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017.
They have been without a collective agreement since September, 2014.
ETFO – Kawartha Pine Ridge Local President Shirley Bell says the two-tiered bargaining created some challenges when negotiating their own local agreement.
Adding they are pleased that they were able to sit and discuss members issues and concerns and are confident that they have reached a deal that protects the best interests of their members and students.
