Residents in the Quinte region and across the province will be asked for comments on how to better run the healthcare system next month.
In our area, the Southeast Local Health Integration Network is finalizing details on a wide-ranging public consultation process involving face to face meetings, on-line surveys, webinars, and even a telephone town hall.
The subject will be a new provincial initiative called “Patients First”.
The proposal is likely to cause significant change and centralization in the healthcare system after a scathing report from the Ontario Auditor General.
Involved will be healthcare service agencies, doctors, patients, specific population groups like First Nations, and the general public.
A public meeting is tentatively scheduled for February 10th in Belleville, but details have not been finalized.
Starting February first, you can offer opinion on the health system through the Southeast LHIN website, while a survey is already available on the Ministry of Health website.
