A bit of a residential building boom in Tweed and Tyendinaga Township this spring.
Chief Building Official Ken Buxton says 12 permits for new houses and renovations worth one-million dollars were issued in Tweed last month. Another 25 permits for residential projects valued at 1.2-million dollars were approved in Tyendinaga. There is considerably more building activity in both municipalities this year than in 2009, and Buxton says preliminary figures for April are also very high.
