The Chief Economist of the Business Development Bank of Canada was the guest speaker for the Belleville Chamber of Commerce Friday morning.
Pierre Cleroux discussed the Canadian dollar, oil prices, manufacturing and the economies of Canada, the U.S and China.
Cleroux says the Chinese economy buys many Canadian items, including many from Prince Edward County.
Cleroux says China has gone from 10% growth annually, to about 6%.
He says they are not in a recession, but in a transition.
He adds another good thing for Canada is the United States is doing better now than before the recession, which is good news for timber and manufacturing.
