Prince Edward-Hastings MPP Leona Dombrowsky says filing your tax return can put more money back in your pocket…thanks to Ontario’s tax changes.
Some of the tax benefits include up to 260 dollars for each member of your family from the new Ontario Sales tax credit, up to 1000 dollars a year from the Ontario Property and Sales Tax Credit.
Additionally, seniors can receive up to 500 dollars to pay property taxes with the Ontario Senior Homeowners Property tax grant and families, (including single parents), can receive up to $1000 in Ontario Sales Tax transition Benefit payments. Singles can claim up to $300.
The tax plan also includes the introduction of the HST and tax cuts for business. It’s estimated these changes will create almost 600 thousand net new jobs within the next ten years.
