A sad day in the local hockey world. Fomer Trenton Sting defenceman Don Sanderson died early this morningĀ at Hamilton General Hospital. The 21-year old York University student was playing for the Whitby Dunlops in the Ontario Senior League on December 12th when he struck his head off the ice during a fight. He had been in a coma and on life support since undergoing brain surgery a day later. Sanderson and his father Mike have coached with local hockey organizations including the Belleville Bearcats.
