There is still no timeline yet as to when three families displaced by an explosion at a Trenton townhouse on Sunday can return home.
A man and women in their 20s suffered serious burns in the blast and are reported to be still recovering in hospital – the man is in the Sunnybrook burn unit in Toronto.
Leah Davis is a representative from Quinte West non-profit housing that manages 24 Annwood Court where the fire broke out.
She says engineers are back on scene today looking at the complex and will decide whether or not residents can return home.
The area is fenced off and Davis says they can get belongings as long as they are accompanied by security that is standing guard outside the townhouse.
Davis says she’s been in contact with all of the residents affected by this and she says they’re nervous, that was a scary day and a lot of them are shaken up, adding there are a lot of kids who live there.
The investigation has been turned over to the OPP and investigators are also back on scene today looking for a cause.
Communication at the scene the day of the fire indicated butane tanks and drug making equipment were found.
Those reports haven’t been substantiated by police as once again they are still working to find a cause for the blaze that caused $250,000 damage.
