The former Commanding Officer at CFB Trenton…charged with killing two local…women has begun a hunger strike in jail. Sources say Colonel Russell Williams stopped eating on Tuesday, although he hasn’t made any demands relating to his strike. Williams was on a 24-hour suicide watch after he tried to kill himself over Easter weekend by filling a cardboard toilet roll with foil and jamming it down his throat. but, staff at the Quinte Detention Centre in Napanee managed to get into his cell and rescue him. He had written a suicide note in mustard on the wall of his cell saying his feelings were too much to bear and his affairs were in order. The Kingston Whig Standard is reporting that a psychiatrist who assessed him says Williams simply wants to die. The 47-year old former commander is charged with the first-degree murder of Jessica Lloyd and Marie Frabnce Comeau and with the home invasion sex assaults of two other Tweed women.
