Two large commercial developments have given the building construction scene a new look in Quinte West.
Chief Building Official Ron Wardaugh says a permit was issued last month for the new five-million dollar service centre on the eastbound 4-0-1, just west of Trenton. A 1.2-million-dollar Free Flow gas station and drive-thru Tim Hortons on Trenton-Frankford Road, near highway 4-0-1, was also approved. Another 3.9-million dollars in new homes and other projects also got the green light, for a total of 10.1-million in March.
Wardaugh says almost 20-million dollars in construction projects have been approved in Quinte West so far this year, compared to only 2.1-million at this time in 2009.
