Having the negotiations resume on the settlement of the land claim issue with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte is “top of the list” for Desronto in 2016.
Mayor Norm Clarke says he hopes the talks between the Mohawks and the federal government would get going again since most of his town is affected by land claims.
Mayor Clark says the water portion of the town’s water-sewer plant needs some rehabilitation.
Deseronto will be losing its only bank and the town will be looking for another bank or credit union this year.
