Prince Edward County Council has ratified an agreement with its volunteer firefighters. The volunteers are paid in various ways..at various scales, whether answering calls, or doing regular training, or specialized training.
The new contract is retro active to December first of last year, and ends on November 30th of next year.
For regular training, Prince Edward Volunteer firefighters will receive 15 dollars an hour for most of this year, but starting this December, the rate will increase to 18.64 per hour.
