Ministry of Natural Resources spokesman John Dungavell says the bats may have the fatal “white nose syndrome.” He says the illness, which has been confirmed in the Bancroft-Minden area, gets its name from a white fungus on the faces of the bats. He says many people don’t realize the role they play in reducing the number of mosquitoes and moths.
