The City of Quinte West is moving to put some bite into their smoking by laws.
Recently, Quinte West Council passed by laws banning smoking near municipal buildings, and municipal playgrounds and sportsfields. However, the by-laws carried no penalties.
Now, the planning committee is asking staff to re write the by laws, including options for fines and other penalties. The new by laws are expected to be ready for next month.
