A man is facing multiple charges after what originally started as a call about a domestic dispute.
Belleville police were dispatched to a residence in the central part of the city last Thursday afternoon.
Officers learned the male involved had already left in a vehicle and was believed to be impaired by alcohol.
The suspect vehicle was located nearby but fled from police.
A short time later, officers were able to safely stop the vehicle and arrested the 30-year-old male driver from Belleville.
During the arrest, the male continually spat and kicked police.
Following the investigation, the unidentified male was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving and over 80.
Additionally, he was charged with two counts of assault peace officer, along with several Highway Traffic Act offences.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
