Deputy Chief with the Belleville Fire Department Jim Young has passed away.
His death was announced by CUPE Local 1842 and city Fire Chief Dan Smith on social media.
Smith wrote that Young was “a man that brought calm to the chaos this world delivers.”
Young spent much of his career with the Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue Department before coming to Belleville in 2023.
Funeral details are not known at this time.
