While there is a possibility of 20mm or more of rain over the upcoming long weekend, Quinte Conservation has reduced its Flood Outlook to a Water Safety Statement for its inland lakes and rivers.
Quinte Conservation says the spring freshet for the Quinte Watershed is drawing to a close and water levels on all lakes and rivers are receding from the high flows of last week.
The anticipated rain may cause a temporary rise in water levels in the smaller watercourses but is not expected to reach levels previously experienced this season.
Meanwhile, Lower Trent Conservation is extending its flood warning for Rice Lake and the Trent River from Hastings to Trenton.
The Trent River system is still in full spring freshet and current water levels and flows remain highly elevated.
There is still snowpack within the northern reaches of the Trent River watershed and it is possible that the forecasted rain and warm temperatures could lead to sustained high flows along the Trent River.
These elevated water levels could cause flooding of driveways, access roads or buildings located in low-lying areas.
