Belleville police are searching for a man after a scary domestic assault Tuesday morning at a residence in the city’s east end.
Officers responded at around 7:30 a.m. after the victim’s 9 year-old daughter ran to a neighbour’s asking that police be called.
Yelling could be heard from a residence and a woman told police her 36 year-old partner had pushed her to the ground, punched her in the face, and tried to choke her.
She was not seriously injured and is being helped by Victim’s Services.
The man had left the residence before officers arrived but police know who they’re looking for.
