The YMCA of Central East Ontario is hosting the third Annual Pickleball Tournament on April 24.
Team Durkins Gherkins and Team Belleville Big Dills will face off in support of the YMCA of Central East Ontario.
“Many of us have been blessed with many gifts and privileges, but not everyone is so fortunate. The YMCA of Central East Ontario is there to help level the playing field, so local children can participate, receive enjoyment, and make lasting friendships,” says Tim Durkin, Strong Kids Campaign Co-Chair, and Captain for Durkins Gherkins.
Thirty-six participants from Belleville and Quinte West enter into a draft on the day of the event to create the two teams.
Sarah Rozema-Seaton, captain of the Belleville Big Dills shared, “As a mom of three, I know how important it is for kids to feel included, supported, and simply have the chance to play and grow through sports. Every child deserves that opportunity, regardless of their circumstances. The YMCA of Central East Ontario is coming together as a community to create lasting impact in a child’s life. When we give, we’re helping every kid feel like they belong.”
