After the March ice storm that left much of the region without power and a trail of downed tree limbs in its wake, a trio of local tree service companies set to work cleaning up the mess.
Read Tree Service, Twenty Valley Tree Service, and Foley Tree Service contributed their equipment and expertise to clear debris and restore accessibility for area residents.
Dylan Foley, of Foley Tree Service, said they were overwhelmed with the number of calls they were getting for help after the storm.
“There was no way our team alone could safely and quickly reach everyone who needed help,” said Foley.
In order to tackle the damage, Foley reached out to his contacts, and found other tree companies that were willing to lend a head. Pete Szymanski co-owns Twenty Valley Tree Service, which is based in Niagara, and made the four-hour drive to come help.
“When you see another community in need and you have the capacity to help, you go,” said Szymanski. “It was worth every minute of the drive to get boots on the ground and see the difference we could make.”
Cleanup efforts are still ongoing around the Bay of Quinte region.
