The Belleville Senators defeated the Springfield Thunderbirds 4-2 last night.
Donovan Sebrango, Tristen Robins, Xavier Bourgault, and Philippe Daoust scored for the Senators.
The Senators opened scoring late in the first period before the Thunderbirds came back to even the score before the frame ended. In the second, the Senators picked up two goals, with the Thunderbirds only getting one and leaving the Sens with a slim lead going into the third. Duriong the third, the Senators took one last unanswered goal, and the win.
Belleville Senators Head Coach Dave Bell said that despite the win, it wasn’t the team’s best showing.
“We got some guys that are pretty sick out there, so attention to detail wasn’t great,” said Coach Bell. “But, the power play was very opportunistic there and got us some big goals, which we haven’t had a lot of, so that was a really nice touch for us tonight.”
The Senators are back in action on Saturday, on the road to face the Providence Bruins. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
