Eastside Secondary track and field star Aidan Crawford has been selected to compete at the 129th Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
The top 18 athletes in each event from more than 34 U.S. States and 16 countries have qualified for this championship which began in 1895.
Crawford will compete in the high school boys discus event in a field that includes nine American and eight Jamaican throwers. He is the only Canadian in the field.
Aiden Crawford is a member of the Quinte Legion Lynx Track and Field Club.
He is the 2023 Canadian Under 18 discus champion.
The Penn relays will be held April 24 – 26.
Crawford will attend and compete at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland this fall.
