The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is looking into a workplace injury of an employee at a Quinte West business.
This past Friday, the ministry was notified of the incident, which took place Thursday in Prince Edward County.
According to a ministry spokesperson, the employee of Tirecraft Quinte West was struck by material while on a job in a location other than the business.
One source to Quinte News indicates it was an exploding tire, however, that has not been confirmed by officials.
That source stated that the person injured was airlifted to hospital for treatment, also not confirmed by the ministry.
An investigator has been assigned and no other details will be provided at this time.
