A 26-year-old Brampton man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 8 p.m. on April 7, 2025, officers were called to Lansdowne Place. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had reentered the mall despite being told to leave as it was closing, and was then located attempting to take items from a kiosk. When confronted the man brandished a metal tire jack handle at security and fled. Officers located a man matching the description given to police a short distance away and took him into custody. The tire jack handle was seized during a search after arrest. No one was injured during the incident. During the investigation, it was learned that the man was also wanted on a Canada-wide Immigration Warrant.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 8, 2025.
