Kingston police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of more than $7,500 worth of musical instruments.
On Sunday, sometime between the hours of 12 a.m. and 2 p.m., the rear window and rear passenger side window of a van parked on the third level of the Chown parking lot across from Hotel Dieu Hospital, was smashed.
Access was gained to the vehicle and some musical instruments and cabling were stolen
The items stolen include a Hyvibe acoustic guitar, Fender jazz bass guitar, Ludwig snare drum, a ’66 Ludwig Hi Tom drum, some guitar cables and patch cords, hard- and soft-shell guitar cases, a Boss chromatic tuner and a red leather bag containing four XLR microphone cables.
Investigators were able to obtain nearby video footage of an individual believed to be the suspect responsible for the theft.
At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweater, a blue flannel jacket, and grey camouflage pants.
The suspect was also wearing a grey cross-body satchel and a large black and grey backpack.
