The Conservative candidate in the Bay of Quinte riding says addictions, mental health, and homelessness are on the ballot this year.
Ryan Williams says his party plans to focus on recovery and community safety.
He says Belleville and the Quinte region have been deeply affected by the addictions crisis, which he says led Mayor Neil Ellis to declare a state of emergency in 2024.
The proposal is to spend $250 million over four years for lifesaving treatment for the 50,000 Canadians battling addiction.
Treatment centres will be compensated based on accountability, efficacy, and successful outcomes.
He says if they form government, they will strengthen border security by hiring more border inspectors, while those trafficking more than 40 milligrams of fentanyl, will face life imprisonment
