The Moira River in Belleville has risen, flooding the Riverfront Trail in the downtown area.
Quinte Conservation released a statement on Saturday saying that while higher spring flows have already peaked with melting snow, water levels remain elevated across the region.
Residents are being cautioned that the high water can be dangerous, especially around the area’s smaller creeks and streams.
