The Boston Bruins have signed Madoc native Dalton Bancroft to a one-year entry-level contract.
The 24-year-old Bancroft just completed his third season with the Cornell University Big Red. He scored 15 goals and 12 assists in 36 games.
The Bruins have assigned Bancroft to the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins which means he could face Belleville on April 12 when the Senators make their lone stop of the season at Amica Mutual Pavilion.
Dalton will be the second Bancroft to play for Providence. His father Steve suited up for the AHL Bruins in the 1998-99 season.
Dalton Bancroft is a graduate of the Quinte Red Devils. He also played four seasons with the Trenton Golden Hawk, a team he captained in the 2021-22 season when he was named the Most Valuable Player in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
