The following was submitted by Prince Edward County OPP:
A traffic stop has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025 at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 62. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result, Zachary Veronez, age 20 from Belleville, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Mischief
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 16, 2025. They also had their driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
