Bancroft OPP have charged two men with mischief after they were caught digging up copper wire.
On Friday, shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a call in Bancroft. After investigating, they discovered that a copper wire which had been used for an electrical unit, had been cut.
Two men were arrested during the investigation. Thirty-six year-old Ryan Haig and 40-year-old Brian Poulain were charged with theft under $5000 and mischief.
Poulain was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. Haig pleaded guilty to the charges.
