With the federal election underway, Kate Crothers, NDP candidate for the Bay of Quinte Riding, appeared on CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker show.
Crothers was born in Campbellford and currently resides in Picton where she runs an interior and garden design firm.
During the radio appearance, she said she was running to advocate for people who haven’t had all the same opportunities she had.
“I’m watching the world head in a direction that worries me for my kids’ future,” said Crothers. “Rather than just sitting back and talking about it, I decided to take action.”
When asked why people should vote for the NDP, she told listeners that the party has plans to tackle the high cost of living issues facing Canadians.
“Pierre Poilievre and Carney, they are interested in seeing the rich get richer,” said Crothers. “They don’t have the same platform that the NDP does in terms of supporting the everyday person.”
Canadians go to the polls nation wide on April 28.
