The following was submitted by Bancroft OPP:
Members of the Bancroft OPP have seized over $19,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop in the Municipality of Highlands East.
On March 29, 2025, shortly before 8 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation two people were arrested and a search of the vehicle located over 26 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 78 grams of suspected cocaine, pills, scales, and five cell phones.
Naeem Mohammed, age 41 and Jessica McCarrell, age 40, have been charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
Mohammed was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 31, 2025. McCarrell was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 6, 2025.
