Quinte West OPP have laid numerous criminal charges after a vehicle was seen driving through residents’ lawns as well as a park and playground area early Sunday morning.
Police responded to the incident at around 2:30 a.m.
The vehicle is then said to have left the area, travelling east towards the downtown area.
Police were able to locate the vehicle but the driver refused to stop and proceeded to drive on sidewalks in an effort to flee.
Additional officers arrived on scene and police were able to stop the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken to the detachment for testing.
Nineteen-year-old Connor Arnold of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Mischief Over $5,000 – two counts
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 24, 2025.
The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
