The current city councillor spoke about the issues he sees in the election that are front and centre.
He took aim at conservative incumbent Ryan Williams and says he has gotten involved in party politics.
Audio Player“It’s become so dogmatic and so politically driven that he’s lost sight of the people who put him there.”
Malette added that when Williams was asked to endorse the Housing Accelerator Fund, the MP got his wrist slapped by the party leader.
Audio Player“Ryan was ordered to sit on his hands because when he endorsed it in 2024, Pierre Poilievre put out a statement listing 17 Conservative MPs, including Ryan Williams, for having the audacity to represent their communities, and it was a naming and shaming exercise. I’d never seen that.”
Malette also spoke about what he sees as a groundswell of support in the Grits camp locally and across the country.
