In the post Belleville McFarland’s era, there were the Belleville Mohawks and Belleville Quintes.
Teams that played in the Senior A”loop of the Ontario Hockey Association throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.
One of the most recognizable players on those teams was Ralph Plane.
Plane passed away on Sunday March 23 in his 85th year.
Plane played six seasons with those franchises and another with the Belleville Eagles in the 1973-74 season.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 31, from 6-9 p.m. and a funeral service on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, 520 Bridge Street East, Belleville.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Columba Church or Hospice Quinte would be appreciated.
