Northumberland OPP have charged inmates following separate incidents at Warkworth Institution.
Police first received a report on February 27, 2025 of an inmate who was believed to have exposed himself while in a public area at the facility earlier in the month.
OPP arrested a 57-year-old male from Niagara Falls on March 27, 2025.
The individual, who was not named by police, was charged with:
- Indecent Act
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
On Thursday, OPP arrested two people after an investigation into an assault that occurred at the facility on December 7, 2024.
As a result of the incident, the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 29-year-old male and a 27-year-old male, both from the Municipality of Brighton and who were not identified by police, have each been charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm
Both were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
