Hastings County Council approved its budget for 2025 at its meeting on Thursday.
This year’s budget is $222,897,924, an increase of 4.67% from the previous year.
A residential tax increase will see the average single-detached residence with an assessed value of $193,805 see an increase of $30 to the tax bill.
Of the total operating expenditures, 53% would go to Community & Human Services, 23% would go to Long-Term Care, 16% would be for Emergency Services, 6% to General Government, and one per cent each to Planning and Provincial Offences.
Capital projects account for over $33 million with Community & Human Services accounting for 67% of it.
