Bay of Quinte federal election candidates will meet for a debate at the Empire Theatre in Belleville on April 15.
The event is being hosted by the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Central Lakes Association of Realtors.
Candidates from the Conservatives, Greens, Liberals and NDP are expected to attend.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the formal debate starting at 7 p.m., moderated by BCC President Chris Auger.
Registration and tickets are not required; seating is first come, first served.
Attendees to the event may submit written questions at the door, or online here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sv/DCVGiw8/2025BoQFedDebate.
The format is expected to reflect the standard round of timed introductions, a rotation of 12 questions/answers and final remarks.
No questions will be taken from the floor.
Candidates are not provided the questions in advance and for each round, the question is drawn on stage to ensure there is no intentional partisan matching of issues to candidates. Questions will include issues identified through the Ontario & Canadian Chambers of Commerce (issue statements are forwarded to the candidates), the membership of the chamber network, online submissions from the public and reviewed by the Belleville Chamber’s Government Affairs committee. which are then reviewed backstage during the initial portion of the debate to ensure no theme has been overlooked.
Coverage of the event by YourTV will be available post-event to Cogeco subscribers.
