Impaired charges have been laid in Belleville after a collision early Thursday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., city police were called to McFee Street, near Riverside Park.
A vehicle slammed into a rock and the car was not driveable after that.
The motorist disappeared from the scene, but was located, and following a breathalyzer, is said to have blown twice the legal limit.
Forty-eight-year-old James Maas of Marmora has been charged and has a May 1 court date.
