Northumberland and Quinte West OPP worked together to recover a stolen vehicle and make an arrest.
Late Monday night, Northumberland OPP received word of a stolen pickup truck travelling on Highway 401 east in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
The vehicle was believed to have been stolen from an address in the Greater Toronto Area on Friday night.
Quinte West OPP were then notified and a vehicle matching the description was stopped near Glen Miller Road with Northumberland officers assisting.
Police began an impaired operation investigation and a search revealed a small amount of cocaine.
Twenty-two-year-old Mcronald Mpundu of no fixed address faces is charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
– Failure or refusal to comply with demand
– Drive motor vehicle – no licence
– Fail to signal – lane change
– Fail to surrender insurance card.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
