Prince Edward County has officially handed over the proceeds from the December 2024 Feed the Meter campaign, to the Hastings Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, council presented Executive Director Kellie Brace and Resource Development Coordinator Jenn Barrett from the foundation with a cheque for $2,448.35.
Barrett said that almost one in four local students makes use of the food programs.
“Thank you very much for year after year agreeing to host Feed the Meter in your town,” said Barrett. “To every single person, every resident, who put change in those meters. That’s how the money gets raised, and we can’t thank you enough.”
The proceeds from Feed the Meter go towards providing meals for students in need across Prince Edward County.
