Prince Edward County Council has honoured a local resident with a civic recognition award for her work in raising funds for the expansion of the Picton Library.
The certificate was handed to Alexandra Bake during Tuesday’s council meeting for her work as the honorary chair of the Picton Library Expansion Fundraising Committee. The committee was able to raise close to $3 million, which was over 80% of the project’s total cost.
Mayor Steve Ferguson thanked Bake for giving back to the community so generously with her effort.
The mayor also mentioned her and her family’s work on preserving heritage buildings along Picton Main Street.
