Operation Red Nose Quinte raised $24,000 for the YMCA camp program.
A banquet celebrating the 2024 season and honouring volunteers and sponsors was held last month.
Operation Red Nose offers safe rides home for people, along with their vehicles, during the holiday season.
The free service accepted donations for the YMCA Strong Kids program.
In 2024 there were 340 volunteers who provided 454 rides, safely getting 898 individuals home.
“On behalf of Operation Red Nose, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible sponsors and dedicated volunteers. Your generous support and tireless efforts made it possible for us to provide a safe and caring service to those who needed it most. Together, we helped create a positive impact in our community, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to this important cause. Your involvement truly makes a difference — thank you for helping us drive change and ensure a safe holiday season for everyone,” commented Patricia Guernsey, co-chair of Operation Red Nose.
“We are deeply honored and grateful to accept the proceeds from Operation Red Nose to go towards YMCA of Central East Ontario camp program. These generous contributions are a testament to the incredible support of our community, sponsors, and volunteers,” said Sarah Rozema-Seaton, Strong Kids co-chair.
