As four-point games go, this was a big one and it didn’t go the Belleville Senators’ way.
Embroiled in a three-team battle with Syracuse and Cleveland for two playoff spots, it was the Monsters who pulled out a 2-1 win over the B-Sens at the CAA Arena.
The result pushed Cleveland into fourth place in the AHL North, two points ahead of Syracuse and four up on Belleville who have 12 games left in the regular season.
Tyler Boucher provided the lone goal for Belleville, his fifth of the season.
This was the beginning of a seven-game homestand for the B-Sens.
It continues Wednesday night when Cleveland returns for a 7 o’clock game.
