The City of Belleville has announced the signing of a new family doctor to the Belleville Doctor Recruitment Program.
According to a release, Dr. Avneet Dhillon will soon start her residency with the Queen’s Family Medicine Residency Program and once complete, will be ready to start her own practice here in Belleville.
The news was announced at Monday’s meeting of Belleville City Council.
“Dr. Dhillon has worked in health care for several years and will bring a fresh perspective to her practice,” said Mayor Neil Ellis in a release.
“She knows Belleville well and will provide top-quality health care to all of her patients. Council is very pleased to welcome Dr. Dhillon to our program and we look forward to working with her as she finishes her residency and starts her practice in Belleville.”
“I’ve had the pleasure of living and working in Belleville and have grown to love the community and the people,” said Dr. Avneet Dhillon in the release.
“I have seen first-hand the need for primary health care in the region and I look forward to starting my practice in 2027.”
The program has been able to recruit more than 50 physicians and eight nurse practitioners since its inception.
