Construction continues on a large recycling centre in Napanee.
In June 2024, it was announced the Waste Management facility would be constructed on County Road 4, north of Napanee.
Between the new Napanee location and a twinned site in Waterloo, Waste Management will process approximately 30 per cent of Ontario’s blue box volume.

Waste Management says the sites will increase recycling capacity and expand the list of acceptable recyclable materials.
The site, which is expected to create 45 jobs, has advanced material separation technology, optical sorters, A.I., and robotics.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
