The Toronto Marlies defeated the Belleville Senators 4-2 on Saturday.
Jorian Donovan and Cole Reinhardt scored for the Senators.
The Marlies opened scoring early in the first period with the Senators taking their first only a minute later. The Marlies grabbed one more to take a slight lead going into the second period. Both teams scored once in the second, with the Marlies carrying their slim lead into the third, where they scored once more, and took the win.
Belleville Senators Head Coach Dave Bell said that playing from behind is difficult.
“It’s always a battle with these guys,” said Coach Bell. “Obviously, we had penalty trouble again, and you just can’t play from behind, it’s just too taxing on certain guys. Max Guenette was up over 28 minutes tonight; he’s doing a great job, but it’s tough for him to now find energy to play some offence, so we’ve got to stay out of the box.”
The Senators will hit the ice on Sunday, hosting the Cleveland Monsters at CAA Arena.
