The Trenton Golden Hawks defeated the Stouffville Spirit 3-1 on Friday night.
Isaiah Shantz and Corbin Roach scored for the Golden Hawks.
The teams played to a scoreless deadlock in the first period, before the Spirit grabbed the first goal of the night in the second to take a slim lead. In the third, the Golden Hawks came back hard with three back-to-back-to-back goals, to take the lead and win the game.
With a first game victory, the Golden Hawks now lead the best-of-seven series. The teams will clash again on Sunday.
